Well, another year is nearly over and we have had a good one this year at SPA. Our member numbers have increased and we have had more people accessing the space and making good use of the printmaking facilities.
We would like to congratulate James Langer, Julia Boros and MJ Flamiano who all exhibited prints that were created at SPA.

An Establishment Grant from Brimbank Council enabled SPA to prepare some promotional material and assisted us to get on with some of the important administration required for a not for profit volunteer-run organisation.
A huge thank you to Brimbank Council for ongoing support. We have received funding for 2020 for our project titled ‘Brimbank Yarns’ in collaboration with MiCare LTD we will invite 6 individuals to tell a story of BELONGING through Art and Text. SPA will provide participants with a series of printmaking workshops, technical support and narrative development to produce an edition of two colour screen-printed images with an accompanying story in screen printed text. Drawing upon the participant’s preference for a story to share be it based on personal experience and/or cultural tradition, the
art and text produced will be celebrated in an exhibition and spoken word event to be attended by the participants, family and broader Brimbank community. Expressions of interest are now open. Please email us if you are interested in being part of this project.

Nicola Cerini delivered two one day workshops in collaboration with SPA this year and we are very excited to say she will be back in January and again throughout the year.
You can book for Nicola’s January 18th Stencil printing workshop here.
We are interested to hear from you. Please let us know about what kind of workshops you would like to do? We would like to start Social Printing Sessions at SPA for new members to get you started and to assist you to be more familiar with the equipment that is available to use. These sessions could be run in the evenings from 6-9pm or on weekends. Please do let us know your preferences by completing this FORM
Our full-year workshop program will be announced soon.
We wish you all a safe, happy and creative season and look forward to printing with you in the new year.
